Font families fall into two major catagories. Non-serif which are easy to read and serif fonts which are fancier.

The height of a font is measured by the height of the letter I. An "O" for instance extends above and below the baseline.
The lower pricetag is much more attractive than the upper one.
Fonts can be extended and condensed. Be careful not to overdue it.
It is best to choose a condensed or extended font style.
Here are some examples of good signmaking fonts.
Many true-type fonts are not suitable for signs.
